Spence Counseling Is Growing!

Spence Counseling is accepting applications for full-time therapists to join our practice. We are committed to racial, sexual, gender, ability, and body inclusion, and we aim to grow without compromising our clinical efficacy or core principles.

Our company values are kindness, clinical excellence, and integrity. We believe therapists work best when they feel supported and balanced—so we prioritize therapist self-care and burnout prevention in our workplace culture.

We’re looking for clinicians who:

  • Hold a current NC mental health credential (LCMHC, LCSW, psychologist, LCAS, or LMFT)
  • Are devoted to clinical efficacy and ethical practice
  • Use secular, evidence-based approaches
  • Provide trauma-informed care
  • Offer affirmation for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients
  • Embody the core Spence Counseling values of kindness, integrity, and best clinical practice
  • Maintain healthy boundaries while attending to client needs
  • Are available for at least 15 client hours per week

The best candidates will have specialized training in a modality such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Exposure and Response Prevention, art therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

What we offer:

  • A portion of revenue from each session, with growth opportunities over time
  • Online scheduling, remote counseling, and secure client messaging systems
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • In-house billing, claims resolution, compliance auditing, and paperwork
  • Referrals generated by the strong Spence Counseling reputation
  • Marketing through our website and online directories
  • Continuing education support
  • Individual clinical supervision
  • Monthly clinical supervision group
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance for full-time employees
